June 12, 2023 - Fall Halloween Cupcakes - CLR059C

Happy Monday, friends!  Kim, here, wishing you an amazing start to your week!  I am in love with the amazing Build-A-Cupcake stamps and dies and when I saw all of the different varieties of cupcakes you can make, of course I had to have all of the coordinating stamp sets.  Today, I am sharing a card that I created using the Fall Halloween Cupcake stamp set.   I know summer is barely getting started; however, fall is coming quickly so I thought I would get a jump start on my cards.

I colored the cupcake topper and the base (two separate images) with Copic markers and set them aside to work on the card base.  I did some very simple paper layering using a fall pad that I have in my stash from last year.

I framed the cupcake with a layered stitched diamond die-cut and adhered it to the card base.  The sentiment is actually cut from the paper pack.

The coordinating stamp sets include Halloween, Valentine's Day, and Christmas, so stay tuned for more tasty goodness!

Thanks so much for spending a few moments of your busy day with me!

Xoxo,  Kim

June 3, 2023 - Build-a-Cupcake - CLR059

Hello, Pals!  Kim, with you today and I can't believe that June has arrived!  Are you ready for summer?  I honestly cannot say that I am ready!

Today, I am sharing a sweet birthday card that I created using the beautiful Build-a-Cupcake stamps and dies.  This is such a fun collection, with cupcakes for all seasons.  I love that you can mix and match them to create exactly what you need.

I colored the cupcake and the sentiment using Copic markers, die-cut the image and set them aside.   I wanted to stick with soft, feminine colors, so I used some patterned papers from my stash, and paired them with a soft pink cardstock.  I created a scalloped border using a die in my stash and adhered it to the patterned panel before attaching it to the card base.

I also created an oval as a backdrop for the cupcake, which I adhered to the card base.  I inked the edges of the sentiment panel with yellow ink, and then backed it with a pink panel before popping it up on foam dots.  I used foam dots behind the cupcake so that it would stand out, and I finished my card with some soft pink rhinestones and a loopy bow.

I hope that you love this card as much as I do!  Please head to the shop and check out this amazing collection of interchangeable stamps and the coordinating dies.

Thank you so much for spending a few minutes of your day with me!

Xoxo, Kim

May 29, 2023 Birthday Banners-CLR062D & Build A Cupcake-CLR059

Hello Friends! Tia here from RockyMtnCraftia.com back with more Birthday Banner fun! I really liked the look of my no-line coloring on the last Birthday Banner card I made, so I came back with it again. This time I paired the banners with the yummy Build A Cupcake set!

What I LOVE most about both of these sets is FIRST-they both have DIES! Save yourself some time and frustration and both of these matching dies!!! SECOND-there are additional sets to match those dies! The Banners set comes in Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's and Easter. The Build A Cupcake also has Christmas, Valentines and Fall themed cupcake sets that match the SAME die! This is how you stretch you collection!

Okay, let's get into today's card. I began with an A2 sized card base. I selected birthday paper from my stash. I created a bold frame using Onyx cardstock and a scalloped die.

I selected the birthday banners-balloons and cupcakes and decided to stamp my sentiment (from the banner set) on a banner. Once again, I stamped everything with Hero Arts Contour Ink which is designed for no-line coloring.

After building my cupcake, these are the COPIC colors I selected to color everything in.

COPIC SELECTION:
Cupcake Frosting: WO; E50; YR30 and E57; E29
                Wrapper: BG15; BG07;Y13; YR14
Yellow:Y13; Y15; Y17
Orange:YR14; YR68
Red: R35; R46; R37

Fine Lines with: Staedtler Triplus Fineliner: Bright Yellow; Orange, Red, Teal, Light Gray

Lastly, I adhered the base of the banners to the card front, while popping the ends with foam tape. I also adhered the cupcake with foam tape on top of the edges.

Another fun and fast card that will really show your excitement to celebrate! So until you do...

Cupcake Celebration!

Happy Woot-Woo-Wednesday! Prickley Pear Fans! Tia here from RockyMtnCraftia.com. I don't know which I love more, birthdays or cupcakes. But when you bring them together...that's a party! Today we're creating one of  those much needed birthday cards for your stash. I know you're busy making the "holiday cards", but take a break with me for a little Cupcake-Celebration!

Today's design team card features the stamp set: Build A Cupcake and the Cupcake Die.

The Design:

This was a really fun and fast card to make. I've been eager to "build a cupcake" with this super cute and ingenious stamp set. I love sets like this-that give you SO many creative options! Talk about bang for your buck!

I keep all of my birthday themed design papers, tags, stickers and embellishments in one storage container. There I found some Project Life cards that made me smile. I pulled matching cardstock in teal, orange and red for my card base. I threw out the red & orange cardstock after I looked at my embellishments and decided I wanted to use red sequins.

Coloring:

Next I built my cupcake (yes, I'm seriously smiling right now!) it really was fun! I stamped my image with London Fog-Memento Ink (Copic Friendly). With the light colored lines I wanted to do no-line coloring.

COPIC COLORS:

Top: C1; E35; E57; E29
Candies: R17; R29; White Gelly Roll Pen
Wrapper: Y08; YR14; BG10; BG23; BG13

The Layout:

After coloring both pieces, I die cut the images with the coordinating dies. I love that the die set cuts close to the images! No excess to trim away.

I created an A2 card base (4.25 x 5.5in) from Bermuda Bay cardstock. I offset both cards, letting them hang off the edges and then trimmed off the overhang. I added foam tape to the back of the cupcake and glued sequins around it . I finished my card by wrapping the top with a piece of white organza ribbon (just like a gift!).

I completed this birthday card using the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from the set stamped onto a scalloped oval die from Prickley Pear and adhered inside.

Thanks for taking a break from your "holiday" cards to follow along with me and make this cute birthday card!

Now stop dreaming about cupcakes and...

Go get crafty!
