Thanks, You Are My Sunshine Thank You Card

Hello Prickley Pear friends!  Joy, here with you today sharing a bright and cheerful thank you card.  I hope this inspires you to make something fun too.  Recently I received a card in the mail thanking me for something really small that I did for friend and it meant the world to me. I think we have forgotten how special it feels to get happy mail instead the regular daily business of the grind. I for one, am guilty of not making enough "Thank you" cards, but I'm going to change that. My card uses the new Thanks stamp and coordinating die from Prickley Pear Stamps. You Are My Sunshine

I love the new bold look of the Thanks stamp and die because it takes up a large portion of an A2 card panel. Not only does this come with the stitched font, but two others and twelve complimentary images. Wowzers! That's fantastic!!! I decided to color the word in a gradient of grays using Copics so that it would stand out further on this bright card. I think the You Are My Sunshine stamp was perfect to create this rainbow sky. I cut this out using a coordinating die and popped it up on the stenciled background.

What's really cool is that to create this background you can use any stencil from your stash and pounce a blue ink through it. I used a rainbow die from my stash which I cut out in white and colored it with Copics. You could definitely used 1/4 inch strips of colored cardstock to create a similar look. Finally I added a few clear dew drops and a single red heart.

Friday, March 31 - You Are My Sunshine - CLR268

Happy Friday Friends! Tia here from RockyMtnCraftia.com. As we end this new release week, I know many of us on the design team will continue to showcase cards from this extraordinary Celestial Collection! I'm closing out this collection with the "You Are My Sunshine' set and lyrics from one of my favorite songs: Sunshine on My Shoulders-By John Denver.

I love when a stamp set offers the ability for paper-piecing! Such a great way to use up those paper scraps! I picked through my box of yellow scraps and found several pattern papers I wanted to use.

I cranked up Spotify and John Denver and sang while I fussy cut my way through a double-stamping of the Sun from this set. 

I started with an A2 sized card and with my Misti Stamping platform stamped directly onto my card base. I used a baby wipe to clear away the corner line of the sun, so I could create one BIG Sun!

The water came from a paper pad with rows of wavy water and some of it had glitter in it! I cut a piece out and freely cut the wavy top.

I wrote out my sentiment with pencil and then went back over with a fine-tipped Sharpie gel-pen (I love those!)

March 28, 2023, You Are My Sunshine Stamp Set CLR268

Hey Y'all!!! Teresa here. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray.... I can sure hear my mom singing that to me when I was little. Be sure to check out the new Celestial Collection at Prickley Pear. You Are My Sunshine is just one stamp set in a beautiful collection. I started by stamping and coloring the sun and these cute little sunflowers on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White paper and coloring them with Copic markers.

You Are My Sunshine Stamp Set

The card base is cut from Gorgeous Grape card stock. It's cut to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" on the long side. Just a tip I learned. Make sure you use your bone folder and burnish the fold well so it doesn't tear the fold.

I cut a piece of beautiful patterned paper to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8". Colors are perfect to be the background for my little sunflower friends. It's glued directly to the card base using wet glue.

I cut a piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock with one of the border dies and popped it up with a piece of foam tape across the bottom edge. The sunflowers are glued flat to the patterned paper behind the fun border and the sun is popped up with foam tape in the upper left corner.

I love all the sentiments that are part of this stamp set. I remember my mom singing 'You Are My Sunshine' to me when I was little. Brought a smile to my face.

The sentiment is popped up with foam tape for some additional dimension.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine...

March 25, 2023 - You Are My Sunshine - CLR268 and Rainbow Dreams - CLR261

 Hi Pals!  Kim, here, to share another card that I created using some of the beautiful new products available in the shop.  Have you been enjoying the new release this week? 

 I had so much fun creating this bright cheerful card!  I combined two of the new stamp sets to - You Are My Sunshine Stamp Set and Rainbow Dreams Stamp Set.

I used lots of masking along with coloring the images with my Copics, which allowed me to create a one-layer image.  

I paired this with one of my favorite patterned papers, which is actually a Christmas paper, and I distressed the edges with a pair of scissors to add some texture to the card.   I finished up with a fun bow, paired with a cloud brad in the center. 

I hope this inspires you to do something crafty!  I am waiting impatiently for summer to come, but for now, this will be my taste of Vitamin D!
