May 29, 2023 Birthday Banners-CLR062D & Build A Cupcake-CLR059

Hello Friends! Tia here from RockyMtnCraftia.com back with more Birthday Banner fun! I really liked the look of my no-line coloring on the last Birthday Banner card I made, so I came back with it again. This time I paired the banners with the yummy Build A Cupcake set!

What I LOVE most about both of these sets is FIRST-they both have DIES! Save yourself some time and frustration and both of these matching dies!!! SECOND-there are additional sets to match those dies! The Banners set comes in Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's and Easter. The Build A Cupcake also has Christmas, Valentines and Fall themed cupcake sets that match the SAME die! This is how you stretch you collection!

Okay, let's get into today's card. I began with an A2 sized card base. I selected birthday paper from my stash. I created a bold frame using Onyx cardstock and a scalloped die.

I selected the birthday banners-balloons and cupcakes and decided to stamp my sentiment (from the banner set) on a banner. Once again, I stamped everything with Hero Arts Contour Ink which is designed for no-line coloring.

After building my cupcake, these are the COPIC colors I selected to color everything in.

COPIC SELECTION:
Cupcake Frosting: WO; E50; YR30 and E57; E29
                Wrapper: BG15; BG07;Y13; YR14
Yellow:Y13; Y15; Y17
Orange:YR14; YR68
Red: R35; R46; R37

Fine Lines with: Staedtler Triplus Fineliner: Bright Yellow; Orange, Red, Teal, Light Gray

Lastly, I adhered the base of the banners to the card front, while popping the ends with foam tape. I also adhered the cupcake with foam tape on top of the edges.

Another fun and fast card that will really show your excitement to celebrate! So until you do...

Wednesday May 24, 2023 Birthday Banners-CLR062D + Banner Die Set PPRS-D062

Welcome Friends, it's a Woot-Woo Wednesday! And to celebrate, I'm pulling out the banners! Hi all, Tia here from RockyMtnCraftia.com. Today I've got a birthday card that really shows the recipient just how excited you are for them. And it's all thanks to the Birthday Banners Set! Nothing shouts louder (in a card) your excitement then banners rolling out of an envelope with balloons and confetti. So let's get started!

I started with paper. In my stash I found this bright, playful polka-dot pattern paper. I like that the colors were bright, but not primary colors. I matched gorgeous orchid colored cardstock for the base and envelope. The background of the design paper was off white, so I decided to cut my banners out of Very Vanilla cardstock. Next came COPIC selection. Again, I matched COPICS with the colors in my design paper.

COPIC COLORS

Pink: RV13;RV25

Purple:V12;V04;V06

Orange: YR16;YR04

Green:YG03; YG25

Blue: B00; B12; B21

For the very fine lines I used Staedtler Triplus Fineliners in: Lt. Green, Mid-Green; Mid-Pink; Plum; Lilac and Warm Gray.

I selected the banners I wanted from the set and stamped them with Contour Ink from Hero Arts. I really wanted the colors to pop and went for a no-line coloring technique. Contour Ink is a hybrid ink intended for no-line coloring.

I used the Banners Die Set from Prickley Pear Stamps to cut out my banners and arrange them in my mini-envelope. The envelope in a gift set, I kept it and opened it flat to create a template from. There are lots of  YouTube videos on how to create envelopes, as well as dies on the market.

I then fit the banners into the envelope (cutting the ends to help them fit) and popped them up with foam tape.

Since the Banner stamp already had the word "Happy", I die cut the word birthday from black cardstock. I decided that looked bolder than I wanted and added another layer cut from Melon Mambo on top-so now it looked shadowed. I deckle cut a background boarder and attached it all to an A2 sized card base.

I love the energy of this card and hope you like it too! The Birthday Banners set has such great energy and this card idea would be easy to alter for Anniversary, Wedding/Baby Shower, Retirement/Graduation etc.! And once you get the Banners Die Set, there are several other Banner stamp sets in the store! Check them all out here: Banner Sets.

February 20, 2023 Birthday Banners Stamp Set-CLR062D

Happy Birthday American Presidents! Hi Pear Pals! Tia here with you from RockyMtnCraftia.com It's President's Day and as we celebrate them, I'm also celebrating my son's birthday!

I've got a fun, bright and energetic masculine card that I've made using the Birthday Banners stamp set from Prickley Pear Stamps.

For this card, I wanted to fill my entire card base with the banners and created a running stream of them across the page using an acrylic block.

I started with a top folded A2 card and planned to run all four banners down the page. I started by measuring the banners. I found that together they would take up 3-inches of my card. That left 1.25 inches for the top & bottom.

Starting 1.25 inches down I took the longest banner and stamped it the full length across the card. For the second line, I stamped the shortest banner and filled the remaining line with another long banner. Because this banner was "too long", it would naturally run into the third line and I kept this going-alternating the banners until I had created 4 rows. Leaving 1.25 inches at the bottom.

I selected a fun colorful confetti design paper in 1-inch strips for the top and bottom. I like using a thin 1/4in.  strip of paper to 'cover the seams'.

Before adhering my papers, I selected my Copics to coordinate and colored!

Here is the list of COPICS I coordinated with:

Pink: RV11; R81; R83
Green:G03; G05; G17
Blue: B01; BG02; BG15
Orange: YR65; YR16; YR68
Red: R22; R14; R27
Pink Frosting: R81
Cream Frosting: Y23
Chocolate Frosting: E23; E57

Once I had my base of colors selected I used them randomly to fill in everything on the card-the confetti, cupcake wrappers, hats & stars.

For the flag ends, I initially colored the gap black and then realized I didn't like it! (Yep, I change my mind mid-create all the time!) So, to add some flare, I filled in the darkened ends with an embossing pen and threw on some silver embossing powder. Because, who doesn't love the look of embossing powder!

I completed the card by stamping the birthday sentiment that comes in the set and die cutting it out with a banner die. Orange is my son's favorite color!!!

Thanks for following along with me for this fun birthday card! Stick around, the hubby has a birthday in March and I've got a plan on how to use this Birthday Banners set AGAIN! And the rest of the design team has more AMAZING ideas for you...AND maybe another NEW RELEASE?!?

Until the-you know what to do!

Let's Celebrate

Hey Y'all!!! Teresa here.  I just love celebrating birthdays! All the balloons, presents and especially the deserts. This stamp & die set from Prickley Pear Stamps reminded me of all the things I love. What a great way to say 'Let's Celebrate' with the cutest little shaker card.

I started by printing the the banners on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White paper and coloring them with Copic markers. The list of markers is below...

Here is the link for the clear banners stamp set & matching dies:

Birthday Banners Clear Stamp Set

Banner Die Set

COPIC MARKERS:

• Balloons (Y15, Y08, Y04)

• Presents (YG07, YG06, YG01)

• Cupcakes (BG07, BG05, BG01)

PAPER & EVERYTHING ELSE

• Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb Paper

• Card Stock - Basic Black, Basic White, Melon Mambo

The card base is from basic black. I had already decided to use melon mambo and it's a great accent color for black. The card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" on the long side.  Make sure you use your bone folder and burnish the fold well so it doesn't tear the fold.

The layer on top of the black is basic white. The white is 5 3/8" x 4 1/8". Obviously you can make it whatever size make you happy. It's glued to the card base with wet glue.

Of course it ended up as a shaker card too. You know I'm all about shaker cards. The banners just make the perfect opportunity. I cut the banners out of a piece of Melon Mambo to form the front of the shaker box. The banners cuts have a clear window sheet glued to the back and foam tape around each banner and around the outside of the entire top to keep any of those little sequins stinkers from escaping because you know they love to do that.

Here's a little tip that I learned from another crafter. Make sure you run a small string of glue around all the foam tape on both sides before you stick it to the window sheet or whatever surface you are using. Sometimes the foam tape looses his adhesitivity (is that really a word) and the glue will keep it permanently in place.

I aligned my colored banners on another piece of Melon Mambo right under each matching die cut and placed the top down on the bottom. Glued the shaker parts to the white card stock with wet glue.

Let's Celebrate is a fun sentiment. What else would you do on someone's birthday but celebrate, right?

Happy Birthday!
