June 3, 2023 - Build-a-Cupcake - CLR059

Hello, Pals!  Kim, with you today and I can't believe that June has arrived!  Are you ready for summer?  I honestly cannot say that I am ready!

Today, I am sharing a sweet birthday card that I created using the beautiful Build-a-Cupcake stamps and dies.  This is such a fun collection, with cupcakes for all seasons.  I love that you can mix and match them to create exactly what you need.

I colored the cupcake and the sentiment using Copic markers, die-cut the image and set them aside.   I wanted to stick with soft, feminine colors, so I used some patterned papers from my stash, and paired them with a soft pink cardstock.  I created a scalloped border using a die in my stash and adhered it to the patterned panel before attaching it to the card base.

I also created an oval as a backdrop for the cupcake, which I adhered to the card base.  I inked the edges of the sentiment panel with yellow ink, and then backed it with a pink panel before popping it up on foam dots.  I used foam dots behind the cupcake so that it would stand out, and I finished my card with some soft pink rhinestones and a loopy bow.

I hope that you love this card as much as I do!  Please head to the shop and check out this amazing collection of interchangeable stamps and the coordinating dies.

Thank you so much for spending a few minutes of your day with me!

February 20, 2023 Birthday Banners Stamp Set-CLR062D

Happy Birthday American Presidents! Hi Pear Pals! Tia here with you from RockyMtnCraftia.com It's President's Day and as we celebrate them, I'm also celebrating my son's birthday!

I've got a fun, bright and energetic masculine card that I've made using the Birthday Banners stamp set from Prickley Pear Stamps.

For this card, I wanted to fill my entire card base with the banners and created a running stream of them across the page using an acrylic block.

I started with a top folded A2 card and planned to run all four banners down the page. I started by measuring the banners. I found that together they would take up 3-inches of my card. That left 1.25 inches for the top & bottom.

Starting 1.25 inches down I took the longest banner and stamped it the full length across the card. For the second line, I stamped the shortest banner and filled the remaining line with another long banner. Because this banner was "too long", it would naturally run into the third line and I kept this going-alternating the banners until I had created 4 rows. Leaving 1.25 inches at the bottom.

I selected a fun colorful confetti design paper in 1-inch strips for the top and bottom. I like using a thin 1/4in.  strip of paper to 'cover the seams'.

Before adhering my papers, I selected my Copics to coordinate and colored!

Here is the list of COPICS I coordinated with:

Pink: RV11; R81; R83
Green:G03; G05; G17
Blue: B01; BG02; BG15
Orange: YR65; YR16; YR68
Red: R22; R14; R27
Pink Frosting: R81
Cream Frosting: Y23
Chocolate Frosting: E23; E57

Once I had my base of colors selected I used them randomly to fill in everything on the card-the confetti, cupcake wrappers, hats & stars.

For the flag ends, I initially colored the gap black and then realized I didn't like it! (Yep, I change my mind mid-create all the time!) So, to add some flare, I filled in the darkened ends with an embossing pen and threw on some silver embossing powder. Because, who doesn't love the look of embossing powder!

I completed the card by stamping the birthday sentiment that comes in the set and die cutting it out with a banner die. Orange is my son's favorite color!!!

Thanks for following along with me for this fun birthday card! Stick around, the hubby has a birthday in March and I've got a plan on how to use this Birthday Banners set AGAIN! And the rest of the design team has more AMAZING ideas for you...AND maybe another NEW RELEASE?!?

Until the-you know what to do!

January 30, 2023, Dinosaur Pals CLR262 Stamps and PPRS-D262 Dies

Hello friends!  Kim here with a super fun birthday card that I created using the darling Dinosaur Pals stamps and dies.  I never seem to have enough birthday cards, and so I have been working to build up my stash.  I love that this stamp set is perfect for anyone!

I started by coloring this little cutie and the greenery with Copic markers and using the coordinating dies to die-cut them.

I kept my color palette very simple with greens and whites, and I love how the color really pops off of the front of the card.  I used some dies and an embossing folder from my stash to add texture and dimension.

I seriously love this card!  The Dinosaur Pals stamp set is full of cute dinosaurs and some great elements to build a scene.  Stay tuned, as I will be sharing another card that I made soon.

Make sure to head over to the shop and check it out!

Thanks so much for spending a few minutes with me!  I hope you have a great day!

Kokopelli Celebration!

It's New Year's Eve and time to celebrate! Hi Prickley Pear Friends, Tia from RockyMtnCraftia.com, jumping in with more ideas from this awesome new Southwest Collection.

I love making pop-boxes! And the Kokopelli Musicians from the "Just Dance" stamp set were perfect for my birthday pop-box!

Now I admit, I wish I had thought to plan my design with the release date and made this pop-box a New Year's themed box. But you can see for yourself how easy it would be to do that!

My inspiration came from these dollar gift boxes I found at Michael's Craft Store. First, I folded and closed the bottom of the gift box. Then, with scissors I cut the sides of the top of the box so there would be three flaps. I then measured and cut cardstock to cover each of the flaps. Before adhering the coverings I embossed my sentiments on them using the Kokopelli-Happy Birthday sentiments.

I stamped each musician with ink to match my box and heat embossed them for added shine. I fussy cut each musician & the music notes (embossed in gold glitter).

I cut 2-strips of white cardstock at 2.5x.5 to make the braces across the box. I used strips of acetate, attached with clear pop-dots to adhere each Musician to the box.  I also use a strip of acetate for the music notes to be playing from the horn of the Musician. I finished my box with a gold music embellishment.

I think the entire Prickley Pear Design Team has just had a blast playing with these Kokopelli images! And I really wanted to highlight them in bright bold colors because they are just so fun!

As we close the year, I want to thank our owner's Sharon and John Ware! They are the most amazing and giving couple, who offer so much inspiration, care and respect. Thank you for including me to be apart of this amazing company and outstanding team of artists and creators. I am most humbled and appreciative!

Happy Birthday, Southwestern Style!

Hello Prickley Pear friends!  We are so excited to be sharing the newest release with you - The Southwest Collection!

I had so much fun creating with this collection, that I made two cards to share with you today!  I love anything animals, so I really love the Southwestern Fun Stamp Set!   It is perfect for masculine cards, though it really works for any occasion!

Masculine cards are a huge struggle for me, and I never have birthday cards on hand for the guys, so this was a perfect opportunity to add to my stash.  I paired this stamp set with some fabulous digital paper that I found on Etsy.
Once I figured out what I was doing, these cards came together so quickly!  I heat embossed the animals on die-cut circles and set them aside.  I also heat embossed sentiments from the Kokopelli - Happy Birthday Stamp Set and cut the strip into a banner.  I wrapped my card panels with some champagne colored metallic embroidery thread and added a loopy bow.
Please make sure to head over to the shop and check out the entire release!  You won't be disappointed!  Also make sure to head to the Prickley Pear Pals Facebook Group and keep an eye out!  The amazing Design Team will be sharing their inspiration with you all week.
Thanks so much for spending a few minutes with me!
