Slay the Day, But First Tea

Hello Prickley Pear Pals!  Joy here today sharing a bold Tea inspired card.  It's no secret that I have a love affair with Tea and start my day off with it every... single... day!   It was only natural for me to make a card with the Tea Set stamp and of course I paired it with a little honey!  

I colored one of the cups from the Tea set with Copics and then cut it using the Coffee Cup die set. I just love that there are multiple stamp set that fit this die. I thought it would be fun to create a background using a honey comb stencil and Distress Oxide inks. So easy, but it makes the black cup just pop from the page.

I cut this panel down to 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches because I thought bold matting layers would add more boldness. I think it came together nicely,. To finish off the card I added twine, enamel dots and a sentiment on a speech bubble. It came together quite nicely, and fast too!

February 20, 2023, Tea Set - Clear Stamp Set CLR057A

 Hey Y'all!!! Teresa here. Coffee? Tea? I used to be a coffee girl but circumstances lately have made me switch to tea. Prickley Pear has two fun stamp sets, one all about coffee and the other all about tea. Also a matching die set. Be sure to check them out. Maybe they need a forever home with you! I started by printing the fun tea & coffee mugs on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White paper and coloring it with OLO markers.

The card base is a beautiful turquoise blue called Bermuda Bay. It's cut to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" on the long side. Just a tip I learned. Make sure you use your bone folder and burnish the fold well so it doesn't tear the fold.

I cut a piece of patterned turquoise paper from The Bees Knees 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and glued it flat to the card base. I made several other layers with Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and patterned paper from The Bees Knees. The measurements are:

Layer 1 (bottom center) - 2 1/2" x 4", 2 3/8" x 3 7/8"

Layer 2 (left center) - 2 1/2" x 5", 2 3/8" x 4 7/8"

Layer 3 (right center) - 3/4" x 4 3/8", 7/8" x 4 1/2"

Layer 1 is glued flat to the card base and background. Laser 2 is popped up with foam tape. Layer 3 is glued flat to the card base. The teacups are popped up with foam tape and stacked on top of one another leaning a little bit like they would do naturally.

The sentiment is one of several sweet sentiments from this new set. I chose 'But First Tea'. I've just started drinking tea lately, having given up coffee. Delicious!.

  

And of course I added some glittery turquoise dots. You know I'm just a glittery girl.

Back to School Bookmarks!

Hello Everyone!

Normally I would be greeting you on a Tuesday, but with back to school and our New Release last week, time got away from me. So, instead you get a Wonderful Wednesday post with the Prickley Pear Design Team!

Today, three members of the Design Team have created beautiful bookmarks. Perfect for back to school! Whether you're a student who needs to mark that important chapter, or a parent who FINALLY has some free reading time after the summer! 

Here we go!

First up is Irit's beautiful card. Irit has used the Blobby Flowers 2 clear set for her creation, along with the Heart Dandelion and Vase with Heart.

 

Sharon has crafted up some reading fun with the new Tea Set. I love the tassle on the bottom of the bookmark. Genius! Pick up this clear set and the matching Coffee Cup dies for less than $35!

Lisa has also used the new Tea Set, but has incorporated the older Coffee Cup set too in her magnetic bookmarks. Also used on these bookmarks is the Coffee Stain, a must have for any coffee creator.
 

Lisa tells me these are the perfect size for planners!
