Butterfly Effects with Heidi Erickson

What difference does one butterfly make?

One butterfly brings blooms flowers in a garden.
One butterfly blooms smiles on a child.

And to a greeting card? It blooms perfection.

Today's post is brought to you by talented Design Team member Heidi Erickson. Today, Heidi shows us how a simple addition to a card - a butterfly - can make a huge difference to the overall finished look of a card.

Here, Heidi's created a beautiful greeting card using the Black Eye Susans stamp. Gorgeous, isn't it?

But look! One butterfly is added to this version of the card, highlighting the main image and adding that little embellishment we're always looking for.

Here is another example using A September to Remember. I just love the colors in this card! How could it be better?

But one quick butterfly changes the look of the card again.

Finally, this sunny Daffodil is the perfect note for a friend.

And this time Heidi finished the card off with the addition of three colorful butterflies. Beauty!

The butterflies added to these cards all came from the Mini Butterflies Clear Set and were cut out with the Mini Butterflies Die. Less than $24 (plus shipping) and you'll have a fantastic, reusable embellishment kit!

Thursday Design Team Inspiration

Happy Thursday!
I'm delighted to bring you another week of inspiration with the talented Prickley Pear Design Team.

It's always intriguing to find out what the team has made this week. With 100's of options in the Prickley Pear catalogue, sometimes crafty minds think alike and we ended up with a theme running through our creations.

"Great Sentiments" is the theme of today's post, with this selection of cards that feature some of the quotes and poetry in the Prickley Pear collection.

Michelle leads us off with Sunshine is Delicious. She has paired it with the brilliantly colored Poppy Bud image.

Irit has created this nighttime sky with Find What You Seek, perfectly paired with the Fairy Dust silhouette.

Heidi's also perfectly quotable with the Kindness sentiment and 2 Daisy Heads image. The Mini Butterflies set and die add an adorable embellishment to this creation.

Finally, Heather has used parts of Irish Blessing on the front of her creation, finishing off the blessing with an inside sentiment.
There is actually a second version of this traditional blessing in the Prickley Pear store, so you can pick out your favorite.

Check out the sentiments section of the Prickley Pear store for more quotable quotes.

And, don't forget to come right back here next week for more great projects with our high quality stamps.

Vintage Viewpoint

Welcome to this weeks Vintage Viewpoint where we take a look at some of the older options in the Prickley Pear inventory.

Here we are in April, so what should we explore today?
April Showers? May Flowers?

No. Snowmen.

That's right, some of us around the globe are still hoping the last snowstorm of the season will finally melt away.  So, let's use some reverse psychology and see if we can create it away. And, if that doesn't work, I guess it's never too early to start planning for those Christmas cards.

Marching, Standing, Stacked...here they are!

This is Three Snowmen Standing. It comes in two sizes, with the larger of the two shown below.

Now we've got snowmen on the move!
Three Marching Snowmen, to be exact.

And, here are our three happy Stacked Snowmen trying to get a glimpse over the fence. Perhaps Spring is there? One can only hope!

We also have a clear set option called Pumpkin & Snowman, with a matching die.

Now, if that's not enough to chase off those flakes, I don't know what will do it! If you want one of these happy snowmen to chase away your blizzards, you can find them in the Prickley Pear store.

And, don't forget to come find us on our Prickley Pear Facebook page as well.

In the Garden

Hello Everyone!

This week's Tuesday feature is titled "In the Garden".

If you've taken a look at the catalogue over at Prickley Pear, you've probably noticed that flowers are a favorite. There's an entire Flora & Fauna category in red rubber, or if you prefer the clear sets, check out the Flowers category.

Our Design Team often shows a fondness for flowers in their work. Here are a few new projects using the some of the many floral options at Prickley Pear.

Michelle's sweet card provided the inspiration for our In the Garden feature. She made this adorable garden scene with a variety of Prickley Pear clear sets, including Blobby Flowers 2 and Flowers 2.
(Sentiment: Spring Flourished Oval)

Of course, florals aren't the only thing in the garden. These adorable stamp is Singing Bluebirds. But wait, isn't there something extra? Heidi points out that Stacked Bluebirds is exactly the same size, allowing her to give this card some extra interest and pop.
(Sentiment: 1 Corinthians 5.17)

Irit made this beautiful canvas. She's used the Build a Bird 2 stamp set and matching die, along with the Leaf die set.

And finally, this creation, also by Heidi. Those who have seen the recent box office hit, Beauty and the Beast will know that this love store starts with a single rose in the garden. Be Mine Forever, indeed.

I hope you enjoyed our In the Garden feature this week. Swing by the Prickley Pear store and find out what could be in your garden.
