You've Got Mail!!.....Art

Happy Tuesday, Prickley Pear fans!!

Here at Prickley Pear, we're constantly looking for new inspiration to bring to you using the Prickley Pear collection of stamps. Our Design Team member, Irit, came up with the awesome idea of creating Mail Art. 

What is Mail Art? 

It's decorated envelopes, making both your creation and the package that carries it to it's destination beautiful and artistic!

And look at how wonderfully the mail art turned out!

First up, since it was her lovely idea, is the talented Irit. Irit created this colorful envelope with the Blobby Flowers 2 clear set. Can you spot her use of the Live, Dance, Laugh sentiment? 

Sharon has used the Row House set for her beautiful mail art. This set is perfect for adding that additional flare to your envelope.

Heather masked off the centre of her envelope with the Flourished Oval die cut and then stamped Petunia around the frame.

And, Heather had so much fun with the first piece of mail art, that she had to give it another try! This envelope uses the Hibiscus 2 clear set, the Bicycle red rubber and the sentiment and tri-floral stamp from Scalloped Circle & Oval 4 Floral clear set.

Thursday Inspiration with the Design Team

Happy Thursday!

Here we are again with a set of fabulous cards from the Prickley Pear Design Team. 

Sharing their projects this week are Heather, Heidi, Irit and Michelle. We've got quite a mix of stamps, from recent New Release products to florals and birds.

Check out Michelle's card using the new red rubber stamps Bicycle and Let Your Faith Be Bigger. Looking for those adorable flowers? She's stamped them from the new Frog on Mushroom image. Clever!

 Heather pulled out her recently acquired Vases clear set. The vase was stamped and then masked in order to add the flowers. The sentiment comes from the Hibiscus 2 clear set.

  

Heidi's used the adorable Mini Birds clear set, with matching Mini Birds die set. Did you know there are two clear sets that pair with this die? The sentiment is a red rubber option called One Smile.

 

This set that Irit has featured is also from our recent new release, called Dainty Dragonflies. The color is just beautiful on these bugs, cut out with the matching Dainty Dragonflies die set. You'll find the Congratulations sentiment in the store too!

Vintage Viewpoint

Here we are, almost the middle of June. In many places, school are winding up for the year, kids are looking forward to the days of freedom and parents are counting the days until school returns. 

Prickley Pear has a whole category dedicated to the seasons. It's here that I travelled to for today's Vintage View point, celebrating the Summer season.

Does the fair come to town where you live? Our family visits the local historical park and rides the carousel with hand-crafted horses. Here is Carousel Horse.

 

We don't have a balloon festival around here, but I've always wanted to see one in person. Make your own balloon festival with the Hot Air Balloons clear set.

The Hot Air Balloons clear set has a matching Hot Air Balloon die available. Check out this clever use of the die.

Around our house, cycling is a favorite pastime. Though we usually travel solo instead of on a Bicycle for Two.

Regular viewers to the Prickley Pear blog might know that Tuesdays are theme day. Since it's now early June, the days are getting longer, the mosquitos are getting annoying and the weeds are growing ALL over my front yard...that's right...

Irit leads us off with this pretty card in gorgeous summer colors. Used here is the Hi! red rubber sentiment. Background is created using Flower Silhouettes.

Michelle has created this sunny neighborhood scene with the new Row House clear set.

 

 Tracie's ready for those late evening rides on her Bicycle. Also used here is the Mini Butterflies set and the You Are sentiment. What a fantastic idea to fill that basket with flowers!

 

 

Ahh! Now I'm ready for some ice cream.
