Hey Pear Pals! Have I got some Southwestern love for you today! Tia here, coming to you from RockyMtnCraftia.com. I have a friend who lives in New Mexico and she saw all the Southwestern fun we're having here at Prickley Pear Stamps! Just like the newest release 'Brighter Days Ahead'.
Well, that super sweetie sent me a bundle of gorgeous southwestern themed papers! So I was excited to create another Brighter Days Ahead card, using my new design papers. I purposely scoured my COPICS for ink colors to coordinate the design!
I began with an A2 card base and adhered the large-busier print 1st. I chose the middle sized print for the panels
Rather than just lay the focal image down, I cut it up into thirds. I then matted each panel on that gorgeous teal print and popped them up on foam tape for a fun layered dimensional card!
I used the smallest sized print-the mustard tick-marks to buffer to other two patterns together.
Here are the COPICS I used that I think complimented the design papers for a smooth cohesive look!
Sun:YR23; Y19
Sand:Y26; YR24; YR27
Prickley Pear Cactus: V06; RV66; RV69
Saguaro Cactus: BG45; BG49; BG75; BG78; T4
I am a firm believer in picking your papers first and coloring second! My sentiment was even outlined with a little bit of Distress Ink in Seedless Preserves.
Now grab your favorite Prickley Pear Stamps, some design papers you're eager to work with (or be lucky enough to have a Stampin' Up Rep. for a friend-wink, wink). And see if you can coordinate your markers to your design papers for a clean, coordinated look! Then head over to the Prickley Pear Pals Facebook Group and share it with us!
Ok, you have your challenge-Now, Go Get Crafty!
