Stacy started stamping about 20 years ago. She lives in southern Oregon with her husband of *almost* 25 years. They have an 18 year old son who leaves for Marine boot camp in June this year.
Stacy also has a 6 year old English Lab named Grace. When she is not stamping she can be found playing in the dirt at her house...or online at SplitcoastStampers! Stacy was a Dirty Girl at SCS and says she is excited to design for Prickley Pear this month! We are thrilled she is designing for us as well! You can see her projects here each Thursday in May! You can visit her blog as well. Enjoy!
Stacy says:
Today is my friend Alice's birthday! (Happy Birthday Chickie!)
This is an side view of the gift tag on her birthday gift. It's a larger shipping tag that measures 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches. The base was stained with some Vintage Photo, Pumice Stone and Walnut Stain Ranger Distress Stains, as were the Avery key tags.
These blooms were made with the Prickley Pear Poinsettia Leaf Die. The linen type texture on these bloom die cuts was done by cutting them from vintage cream cardstock and pressing the die face down onto an Ranger Adirondack Latte pad. That is the pattern of the top of the ink pad. I did pull all the petals upwards towards the centers and then added an gold sequin and a drop of Bisque Liquid Pearls to the centers of that. The plain looking petals were cut from some Shimmery Opal Stardream cardstock.
Here is a glimpse of the whole tag. The sentiment is cut from an tattered book of quotations and stained with some antique linen distress stain. It reads "Joy is not in things, it is in us." Richard Wagner (1813-1883) the gingham ribbon is from Micheals. The hand dyed silk I have never known the mfg. info of and the tatted trim is vintage. The tag in the middle (left side) is from Recollections and that one is that color out of the package.
I had wanted the swirls (also cut from some vintage cream cardstock) this is an new die out from Prickley Pear called Flourish. It was cut 3 times and I wanted the swirls to be a little dimensional also like the floral tags were growing on this as a vine so, it has a few glue dots under parts of the key tags and a few of the end pieces the rest is able to pop up. there is also a few random liquid pearl dots on it also. There is also a bit of May Arts burlap string in the centers of the key tags.
Gorgeous Stacy!!!!! I have some metal tags, I now have a use for. Love the gorgeous flourishes and the flowers are gorgeous! I knew I should have ordered them last time!
