Hello, I am Heidi Erickson. I love rubber stamping and making cards. I have been stamping for 20+ years. My Mom was the one that got me started with the craft. I will have to admit that I was less than favorable to the idea. I thought, what can you really do with a rubber stamp? Boy I had another thought coming!! What you can't do with a rubber stamp and ink! I have been stamping ever since. I love how the stamping world has evolved and all the wonderful products that are out there to enhance these creations. I enjoy finding new folds and designs for cards and unique ways to use my stamps. I own a Stamp and Scrapbook store, The Stamp Shoppe, in central Wisconsin with my Mom. We opened our doors in 1997 and strive to inspire our customers still today!

Today, I decided to try making a Twist Pop Up card. We got some snow last night, and what better way to celebrate than to make a snowman! A snowman card that is! And I knew just the stamps that I wanted to use.

First of all, I cut a piece of white cardstock 8 1/2"x10 3/4". Placing the 8 1/2" side along the top of my ScorPal, I scored at 2 1/4", 4 1/4", and 6 1/4". Rotate the paper with the longer side along the top and score at 3 7/8", 5 3/8", and 6 7/8". Now cut the four rectangles at the four corners off. Cut along the scored lines. Place a bone folder where the two center scores intersect. Take the left flap and fold down at an angle lining up the center score line with the center vertical score line. Then repeat with the right flap, folding it at an angle lining up the center score marks. Fold in the two flaps.

Cut a panel 3 1/2" x 11 and score at 2 3/4", 5 1/2", and 8 1/4". Fold along the scored lines. Cut four panels of paper for each panel 3 1/4" x 2 1/2". I cut out white paper with a rolling hills die. Then I stamped the Frosty the Snowman to make a banner for the first panel. For the second panel, I stamped the Three Marching Snowmen, which I cut off the last one to fit on the panel. I cut out the Tree 2 die from brown cardstock and adhered it to overlap both of the center frames. I stamped the Let It Snow sentiment on the snow of the third panel. The for the last panel, I stamp the Three Snowmen Standing, I cut out the images and colored them with Copic Markers.

To glue together the Pop Up Mechanism, apply glue to the left flap from the center score line and DOWN, the adhere the first panel making sure that the fold line of the panel is just past the side of the white card. Then apply glue to the right flap from the center score line and UP. (This is very important to glue opposite sides, or the panel will not flip). Again, make sure the fold of the last panel is just past the edge of the white card.

I cut plaid paper to glue to the top and bottom of the inside of the card. The corners that I cut off, I then used on the front of the card. I stamped two Snowflake banners from the new Christmas Banner Set and I also used the sentiment from this same set on the front of the card.

Glue this white folding mechanism into the inside of the blue card that was cut 4 1/4" x 11.

I found this video to be the most helpful when making this card.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and wishing you a fantastic Thanksgiving day!
