Wintery Wreath

Michelle here again, look at what I found in my never posted file for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps...not sure how this wintery wreath snuck through the cracks!  With the freshly fallen snow in our parts I am thinking it is still fitting...and it's never to early to start creating cards for the next holiday season!

I die cut D031 Poinsettia Die and stamped CLR031A Poinsettia 2 Holiday images on blue designer paper and then accented them with white gel pen.  I curled the petals and then added gems.  The leaves are by Cheery Lynn, but D037 Leaf Set would work just as well.

I added some Martha Stewart snowflake punched pieces and topped them with baby poinsettias.  I added a strip of swirly gems and some seam binding and the touch of faux stitching finishes my card.

We are gearing up for our NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP: Feb 13, 14, 15!!!

Paper Doll Dress Making Tutorial

 Hello!

Angie, here with a paper doll dress making tutorial!
A month ago for "PPRS Monday Inspiration" I shared the sweet PPRS retro girl: JJ0085 Hanging an Ornament.  I changed her from a Christmas image to a pretty in pink valentine and mentioned that perhaps next time we saw her she would go green.  I had several comments asking for a little more instruction on how I put together her skirt so today I thought I would share a little tutorial on the skirt making.

I inked up the stamp and then placed a strip of washi tape over the ornament to "mask" it off  and stamped image on white CS.

I stamped two skirts on patterned paper, added highlights to the skirt by watercoloring with distress inks and cut them out.

I colored the image and drew a line so that our girl could dangle the "Lucky Charm" sentiment.  I got lost in the moment and colored the skirt with distress inks and water totally forgetting that it would be  be covered up by the second layer!

Next, I flipped the second skirt over and and added double sided tape.

I adhered the tulle, pleating it just a bit as I went across the skirt.

I added glue to the top of the waist and slightly down the sides stopping when I came to the tulle then adhered it to first layer of skirt.

Check out all the fun dimension!

The sentiment is from CLR013D Scalloped Circle Oval 5.  I stamped and cut out three of the little clover from the clover circle included in the same set and adhered them to the sentiment then I stamped and die cut the bow from sets: CLR036 Stocking clear setPPRS-D036 Stocking Die Set,
The background layer was created by using the clover circle from   CLR036 Stocking clear set.

There we have it.  This little lady can do a whole lot more than just "hang an ornament"!
Thanks for looking!!!

I hope you have a fabulous day!

Shaker Cards!

Michelle here today sharing a pair of fun shaker cards for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps; one normal one and then a Peek-a-Boo shaker card!

The shaker box on this first card is clear through to the inside of the card where I stamped the sentiment and some light blue snowflakes!  I have a tutorial coming soon with the new Prickley Pear release....so keep your eye on my blog for another great sample and directions too!

These shaker cards were made with a card/frame from The Paper Cut.
This card is more traditional.  I lined the back of the shaker box with white cardstock because I did the Glitter and Acetate technique on the Love stamp that I stamped on the acetate and then glittered on the back.  I didn't want to see the unfinished glittered back, so I lined it to cover it up.

I love the addition of the sequins on the outside of the card that coordinate with the ones inside of the shaker box!  In bot of these cards I added a sprinkling of crystal glitter for a bit of extra fun!

Valentine Sour Cream Treat Container Tutorial!

Good Morning!
I'm here with a Prickley Pear tutorial for some really cute Valentine sour cream treat containers.
I would take a whole bushel of them if I could!
These treat containers are perfect for some Sweet Heart candies. Just fill them up, seal the open end and decorate with some cute stamped hearts, ribbon and tags.
So, lets get started!!
Cut a piece of designer paper 4 x 6 inches and score one end at 1/2 inches.  Place score tape or adhesive along the other end and halfway across the bottom.
Fold the paper over and adhere the two ends together forming a tube. (The scored end with the flap will be inside the tube) Adhere the bottom of the tube - where the score tape was.
This is another view after ends and bottom are adhered together.
Crimp the bottom end using a paper crimper.
This is what it should look like to crimp the ends.
Can you see the crimps? (the lines across the bottom?)
Now that you have one end crimped and adhered.  Crimp the other end in the opposite direction as the bottom. This is what it will look like when you have done both ends.
The top end will remain open to insert candies.  After candies are put in the container you can seal the top end. and then decorate.
For these containers I stamped and cut out hearts and sentiments from Prickley Pears CLR016 Heart Key Crown Clear Stamp Set and DD0158 Funny Valentine Red Rubber Stamp
Now decorate the tops of the containers with ribbon, hearts, sentiment tags and clothes pins.
Aren't they just adorable??
Here they are together in a bowl.
Be sure to take some time to make these and hand them out to your co-workers, teachers and friends!!
I hope you have enjoyed this simply short and sweet project!
Have a wonderful day!!
