Guest Designer Iris' Week 4 Project!

I made a little note card using 'Flower Fairy'.  The image was stamped with Versafine Onyx  Black ink onto Fabriano hot press, extra white watercolor paper. I colored it using Distress Ink markers. The sentiment is from the Dragonflies 2 set. I've decorated the card with some mulberry paper flowers, satin ribbon, paper doily, pearls, rhinestones and a pearl brad. The paper was from my scrap box, don't know the make anymore.

Close-up on the image. I've added Stickles to parts of the dress for some bling.

Angela's Tea Bag Stamping Tutorial!

Hello there!  Today I have a fun project to share using a tea bag and Prickley Pear Rubber stamps and dies!

Begin by soaking a tea bag in hot water.  I make myself a cup of tea and save the bags!

Open tea bag and remove tea leaves, allow it to dry completely before stamping.

I drink a wide variety of teas and it's a lot of fun to see the different stains they create.

 Dried Papers

To create this card I did not let the tea bag dry but cleaned off the tea leaves then dripped TH Reinkers directly onto the wet tea bag.

I used my heat gun to quickly dry the inked bag then I stamped GG0187 Black Capped Chickadees on the tea bag and tore the edges to center the image.  The stained tea bag looks a bit like linen now!

I created the flowers from a second inked tea bag using D012 Beautiful Flowers die.
DD0199 Happy Spring.

TFL!

Welcome to Day 3 of our Blog Hop! We hope you have been inspired by the beautiful cards and creations that our team has put together. Here is a third card that I have designed that was sooo quick and easy.

I started by stamping the GG0193 Heart Grass with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink along the bottom of the card face and randomly. Then I distressed the edges and layered onto tan card stock.

Next I pulled out the Kiss Me Circle and stamped on cream card stock. I pulled out one of our newest dies, the D041 Scallop Circle Nesting Die and our Scallop Circle Die, these dies are designed to match the Scallop Circle Die. I cut one out in a pink patterned paper, tan paper and orange, pink patterned paper. I layered all as shown.

I finished by adding twine to the card and layering the stamped scalloped image.

Your next hop stop is Heidi's blog. Thanks for playing along. Two lucky winners will be chosen by announced by this Friday!

Nicole's inspiration for you today:
My card today uses such a sweet image from our new release. HH0155 Effie. I love how this little elephant is being lifted up by the heart balloons. It was calling on me to ink it up. I stamped the image onto white card stock. Colored in with colored pencils. Fussy cut around the stamped image. Layered onto card front as shown. And finished the card with a paper border D034 Floral Border and stamped the sentiment (CLR015 Blobby Flowers) into the D044 Heart Oval Insert die cut.

I stamped JJ0157 Penny onto white card stock. Pulled out my colored pencils and colored her in and then fussy cut around the image so I could layer. I pulled out papers of sherbert, green and pink matted as shown. Stamped EE0182 April Showers with VersaFine ink as shown. To finish this card, I die cut the flowers, and leaves and stamped into the flowers. (CLR015A Blobby Flowers 2, D015 Blobby Flowers Die, D037 Leaf Set.) Then to add a bit of bling, pearls and green rhinestones!

Thursday Inspiration Post!

The weekend is almost here and we can't wait!  We'll be hopping for Prickley Pear and sharing a ton of new images for our Spring CHA release!

Michelle here, and I will share a few bits of eye candy for you today to tide you over....enjoy!

My first card is a valentine GG0081 Flourished Dancers, GG0127 Ruffle Heart  I die cut some hearts and then outlined them with a white gel pen.  Fussy cut around a few fun valentine images and then stamped my sentiment on a piece of acetate with Stazon ink...the acetate is attached to a glittery gold panel.

This is another fun winter card using GG0179 Jingle BellsGG0184 Snowman With Lantern, D038 Snowflake Pendant die.  Papers are from Authentique's Journey Bundle.  I added some washi tape and candi dots and created a fun pocket by slicing along the embossed imprint with an craft knife.  The embossing folder is from Crafts Too.

JJ0068 Vintage Angel - Here is a hint for you if you are not in to angels.  Don't ink up her wings or cut them off as I did here and you will have an image you can use for spring or any time!

And finally, here is one last glitter card featuring the Poinsettia stamp set and die: CLR031A Poinsettia 2 Holiday Clear Set, D031 Poinsettia Die

Look forward to seeing you soon as we showcase the NEW SPRING IMAGES!

Heidi's Distress Inks Tutorial and Sneek Peek!

Today's tutorial is by Heidi, and it is giving you a sneek peek of the new spring stamps....these stamps have been released to your Prickley Pear retail stores and will be released on our website over the weekend!

Today I am doing a tutorial with Distress Inks on the new Ranger Specialty Stamping paper!
Here is what the finished product looks like:
First of all, I stamped the image onto the Specialty Stamping Paper with Archival Black Ink.  Then I used the heat tool to dry the ink quicker.  Next, I taped around the four sides with Removable Scotch Tape.  I tape in about an 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch.
For this card I used lighter colored inks.  I used Scattered Straw, Broken China, and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks.  If you use darker the colors, then you don't need to do as much sponging.  I start out with sponging the Scattered Straw in three different areas, but leave some white space.  Then I used Victorian Velvet on some of the white space, then finally sponging the Broken China on the remaining open areas.  If I feel it needs more blending or to add more color I go back and add more.  Once the color is how I want it to look, then I remove the tape.  The last thing, I do is spritz the paper with water.  As the water dries, it leaves bleached spots over the image.

Even though I love this technique with the Silhouette stamps, it also looks nice with images that you color. Here is a sample of the same technique with the new Baby stamp.  The image with colored with Distress Markers.  This time the image was spritzed with a fine mist, creating a little different texture to the card.  Now it's your turn to give this a try!

Guest Designer: Iris, Week 2!

Hello Everyone! I'm here today with my second posting for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps as a guest designer. This time I have an 'All White' card to share..well almost....the sentiment is stamped with black ink and I've added 3 tiny blue rhinestones...but see for your self:

The gorgeous dragonfly is from the Dragonflies 2 clear stamp set and cut out with the matching Dragonfly Die. I stamped with VersaMark ink onto white cardstock and heat embossed using clear super fine detailed embossing powder. The sentiment is from the Dragonflies 2 set as well.

Here's a close look on the dragonfly:
And here you can see how nice the heat embossing looks.

Other dies I've used are from Memory Box. The white grosgrain ribbon and the three tiny blue rhinestones are from my stash.
