Crackle Leaves Tutorial - Jenny Gropp

Jenny Gropp has a tutorial for us today as well as a fun background idea!

Jenny added a Frame Die Cut to a white card base and then pieced tiles back in. Makes for a pretty pretty quick card background, you can do less or more when it comes to colors and piecing tiles back in.
She woke up the leaves with a little Copic coloring. Total color time about ten minutes.
Next she added Crackle Accents only some of the leaves. Here it is still wet in this picture.
Here the Crackle Accents has dried and also CRACKED! She used Perfect Layers Rulers to add all the layers to the image. Finished card size is an A2.

Prickley Pear Thursday Theme Inspiration!

Welcome to another Thursday Theme Inspiration post!  This week we are going to focus on the Clearly Beautiful Pumpkin/Snowman set and die!

Here is a fun way to change the look of the Let It Snow sentiment included with this set....trim it down leaving a narrow border and mat for a smaller sentiment with a totally different feel!
Pumpkin & Snowman Die
Here is Mr. Pumpkin all decked out for fall!  The same die cuts out this sweet fellow!

I stamped the fall sentiment on paper that I had distressed with alcohol inks and Copper Mixatives.  Since the sentiment paper was glossy, I stamped the sentiment with Stazon ink.

I used the Scalloped Oval Die and DD0135 Small Oak Leaf to embellish my card.

Finally, I have one more card with the snow couple....all decked out for the holidays!  The die they are layered on is the throw-away piece from the Spellbinders Twisted Metal die.  Not much gets tossed in my stampin studio....especially if it's already die cut and is specialty paper! *wink!*

Thanks for joining me for our Theme Thursday!

Prickley Pear Thursday Theme Inspiration!

This week our Prickley Pear Thursday Theme Inspiration is Reindeer!    It's never too early to start thinking about Holiday Cards.

Heidi has created this gorgeous card using JJ0030 Reindeer Pair & FF0089 Noel.  She used fancy tags two and labels 18 from Spellbinders. The sponged color was with distress ink. It was watercolored with distress inks and a waterbrush.

Steph created this card using FF0144 Embellished Reindeer and Christmas Trees 2 Clearly Beautiful Stamp Set.

Michelle created this card using JJ0030 Reindeer Pair and Victorian Ornaments Clearly Beautiful Set.
Coloring with Copic Markers.
And finally, one more by Heidi using JJ0030 Reindeer Pair and a greeting from Cardinal Clearly Beautiful Set  2 & Fanciful Flourish from Cheery Lynn Colored with Copic Markers.

Have you made something with a Prickley Pear Reindeer Stamp?!  Leave us a link in the comments and we'll  check it out!

Prickley Pear Thursday Theme Inspiration!

Welcome to Prickley Pear Thursday Theme Inspiration!  I will be working to feature various images/sets on the Thursday posts.  Who can't use some inspiration for several ways to use an image or set?

Today's cards for the Thursday Theme Inspiration post feature the Large Oak Leaf stamp which I stamped on pieces of glossy cardstock that I colored with various alcohol inks using the Polished Stone Technique.  I fussy cut around these leaves and then tucked them into the slit I created in the Couture Creations embossed panel.
Sentiments on both cards are from the Clearly Beautiful Oak and Maple Leaf set.  On this set, the green background pieces are the what the polished stone technique looks like done on matte gloss photo paper scraps!  Same inks, different look!

The background panel is an iridescent sort of coated cardstock that I ran through my cArt Us embossing folder.
