Delicious Autumn

Happy Saturday folks! We’ve just had a real summer thunderstorm around here. Lights went out and the whole chaboom. But that doesn’t take away the fact that fall is closing in. Next week is September already. Yikes! The good thing is that Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps has loads of beautiful fall stamps.

Delicious autumn

The beautiful sentiment Delicious Autumn is stamped with Color Box Moss Green and clear embossed. And the background behind the bird is made with the Solid Leaf ATC stamp which was inked up with three different shades of green ink from Color Box and then cleared embossed. Both elements are heavily inked with Distress ink, Vintage photo. I love the clear embossing resist technique!!! The bird is from Build a Bird Clear Stamp Set, and I also used the coordinated die Build a Bird Die. The little crown is from the Heart Key Crown Clear Stamp Set and is cut out with the Heart Key Crown Die.

Don’t forget about the sketch challenge. Still almost a week to go!!!! All info can be found HERE!!!

Have a great Saturday!

Small Cheetah Card

Happy Thursday! I have a no patterned paper but a lot of fun ink and mist card to share today. And I’m using the darling Little Cheetah stamp! I’ve colored her with my copics, and I’ve done it without having the perfect colors. Instead I’ve layered different shades of colors to get that yellowish brown that I was aiming for. Amazing what copics can do when comes to blending!!!!

Enough rambling! First up – the card:

Cheetah

I simply love this sweet face!!! And the sentiment – Marvelous - is such a great one. I’ve used it over and over again since I got it.

The coloring – well, I didn’t have any color that was perfect for this Cheetah, so I used what I have. I Started with a very light skin tone in the bottom E 21, and added some Mustard Y26 over it all and then some yellow Y13. This gave a good foundation and then I added some browns (E55 and E57) and a more pink skin tone to ad some shadows and warmth (E95). I like how she ended up. :)

Cheetah 1

The background of the card is made with the help of fun mist from Maya Road and a mask. There are loads of fun masks now (have you seen the new ones from Prima???).

Cheetah 2

I cut the misted cardstock piece to the size of my card, and then went over it with Distress ink Frayed Burlap around the edges and distressed the edges with my distress tool.

Cheetah 5-1

I mounted the Cheetah on a die cut circle that was also misted and inked. I used pop dots for some dimension.

Cheetah detalj

I added some Glossy Accent on eyes and nose and the whiskers and the dots got some glitter pen to give her some flair. Isn’t she totally gorgeous!?! :):):)

Before I go, just a reminder that there is a sketch challenge going on!!! A great sketch and a FAB prize are waiting for you!!! You find all the details HERE!!!!

Clear embossing resist…

…is one of my favorite techniques. I love the many ways to use it and my Distress inks! YAY! So today I have a clear embossing resist card.

Two hearts

I stamped the Leaf Flourish twice with embossing ink and used clear embossing powder. Then I went over the whole piece with a lot of Vintage Photo and then some Brushed Corduroy along the edges. I splashed some water over it all, to give the background some more “life”.

Here is a close up of the Hearts.

Two hearts detalj

Both hearts and sentiment is from the Heart Key Crown clear stamps set. I clear embossed them too, and inked them up with vintage photo.

The Die cut circle is the Scalloped Circle Die – HUGE favorite of mine!

Thanks for stopping by!
