Anya came up with this pretty little card using our Snowflake Reindeer. I love how she lined up all three reindeer in a row, makes for a really whimsical card. The clear beads she added to the tops of the reindeer give them just enough bling.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 6

A week or so I was looking on the DT blogs and I came upon a paper ornament that I absolutely loved. DT member Terese Broman made this darling little paper heart ornament. It was woven. I liked it so much, I thought I would try my own version. And here is what I came up with.

First, I started with printing out the pattern (supplied). I cut 2 pattern pieces from this and then wove the bottom sections together. When woven, the two halves create a heart.

I then stamped the upper left side of the heart 3 times with my Poinsettia stamp and embossed with gold. I chalked in the images. I backed on black card stock and trimmed.

I then pulled out one of my ATC transparency sheets and colored the back of the transparency with copic markers. Once colored I applied Art Institute Glitter Glue and silver glitter. I let this dry before mounting onto my background paper. I finished with prima flowers and buttons.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 5

Hi All,
This 12 days of Christmas business sure has been fun, and we are not even half way though! I have a really striking little card done up by Design Team Member Terra Serrano.

Here is what she did in her words:
I started this card by masking with some mask shapes from Tim Holtz, and then covering them with white gesso. After I peeled the masks off, I was left with an awesome flower print. The top half of the card is a really sultry red velvet paper, which is hard to see in the picture, but super soft. I used the Retro Trees Ornament from Prickley Pear on glossy paper, and mounted that on top of a line of ribbon and black tulle. The final touch was the black buttons in the corners.

Jean's Junk Drawer- Making stamped wrapping paper

Sometimes it's great to make some wrapping paper for a very special gift. With just a few items it's easy to create a very elegant paper. 

Materials Needed:                                                                               

 Dark Tissue Paper- Navy, Maroon or Dark Green work great. (I used maroon)                                                                                        

Gold or Silver Ink Pad                                                              

 Various Stamps                                                                           

Gold/ Silver ribbons or bows

Start by Crumpling the tissue paper to give it some texture. Then flatten it back out. There will be wrinkles in the paper.

Next, Stamp with gold or silver ink all the various stamps. I used the Penguin Fourish  stamp. Go in different directions with the stamps.

If necessary, cover stamped areas with a clean white paper and iron to heat set the ink. (I didn't need to do that for mine. It dried fairly quickly)

Sketch Challenge!!!!

Hi All! Tomorrow, December 6th we will be doing another FANTASTIC sketch challenge.
Our designers have worked hard to come up with artwork that will help to inspire for this sketch challenge. We will be posting it in the morning. We have some wonderful BLOG CANDY we are going to give away for the winner of the challenge.

12 Days of Christmas Day 3

This project I am going to share with you has become one of my new favorites. Jennifer Stricker sent me this beautiful little paper ornament, complete with beautifully bent wire and scraps of ribbon for the hanging portion, along with lace and buttons for the finishing touches. She used an ATC transparency piece from the Birds ATC transparency sheet, and I just love the effect.

Here is what Jennifer did in her words.
Supplies:
Paper} Solid-Chipboard, PP-Papertrey Ink, Vintage Sheet music
Transparency} PP
Ribbon} May arts
Ink} Tea Distress ink, Rock Candy-Tim Holtz
Tools} Copics, Wire, 100 wishes paper flowers, vintage buttons, cotton string, Crop-a-dile eyelets,vintage lace, Cricut (die-cut swirl)

Instructions:

Colored PP transparency on back side with Copics, and mounted patterned paper behind image. Mounted that transparency onto the music paper, curling back the corners and distress inking the whole thing. Mounted that music paper on a piece of chipboard for stability, trimming to match shape of paper. Added the wire through eyelets, and decorated with flowers and ribbon. Painted the edges with Rock Candy to add a distressed look. Added lace, die-cut swirl and buttons to finish it off.

12 Days of Chrismas - Day 2

Well folks, between working and having family visiting I missed 2 days of the 12 days of Christmas. So I will be extending to the 14th, so we can get all of these beautiful cards and projects we have to share - shown!

Here is a fun little card by one of our design team members Rose Frydrych. She made a snow globe that features our new snowman - we call him Walter.

Here is what she did
She cut the Snowglobe cut from Cricut Expression Provocraft. Stamped Walter the Snowman, colored with Prismacolor Markers, cutout image and glittered. She then mounted onto snow globe. I used Embossing Folders for texture on snow globe and trees are diecut with Cricut.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 1

How much fun we are going to have celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas and showing you all 12 fabulous projects from our Design Team, Mary and Myself!

I am going to get this started by sharing a fun little project that I did over the weekend. I LOVE paper ornaments. They are just so much fun to make.

This year, we have little chipboard ornament kits available through our website. I have decorated one up.

I started by pulling out my tefflon craft sheet. I then placed a bit of Worn Lipstick and Dusty Concord distress ink onto my surface. I misted the colors lighly so that would blend a bit together.

Next, I dipped my ornament into the ink and smeared. Once completed, I pulled out my mini mister spray bottle and sprayed with brick red distress ink onto the surface.

I let the ornament dry completely. Once dry, I stamped the poinsettia stamp off to the side of the ornament with black Memento Ink.

I then pulled out my copic markers and colored in the image as shown.

Next, I pierced the edge of the ornament and stitched the edges with gold thread. I then adhered beaded trim to the back of the ornament.
